During the National Holiday, we hit the road for our group trip at 5:30 AM.  The first stop was Tongxiang Wuzhen in Zhejiang Province.  Wuzhen is a living example of ancient oriental culture and we enjoyed it very much.  We visited famous tourist attractions such as the Double Bridge; a display of hundreds of ancient beds; and displays of local culture.

 

After lunch, we headed for West Lake in Hangzhou.  Instead of the normal one-hour drive it took 3 hours due to the heavy holiday traffic.  A drizzling rain added a mysterious atmosphere to West Lake where we went boating and were enchanted by its beauty.

 

A famous Chinese poem goes, “Whatever her makeup is, Xishi always radiates beauty and so does West Lake.”  We strolled around in the hazy weather, feeling like we’d walked into a fairyland.  It was so beautiful that we did not want to leave and almost missed the evening trip to Song Dynasty Town.  The most impressive part was a dance performance called ‘Song Dynasty Town Eternal Love’ which has won the Lotus Award, a top dance prize, and the Five One Project award.  Its reputation is well-deserved indeed.

 

The next day we visited Tonglu.  We went sightseeing to Yan Ziling's Fishing Platform on the Fuchun River.  Standing on the Fishing Platform, we could see the clear waters and green hills in the distance and marveled at the beauty of this wonderful place.

 

Later, we went to Yaolin Fairyland where inside the cave the lighting on the impressive stalactites made them look amazing and mysterious.  Their mystique always pulls on the heart and imagination of anyone who sees them.  It was the highlight Yaolin Fairyland and was enjoyed by everybody on the tour and we did not want to leave but had to go back to work again.
